The US President Barrack Obama on Sunday visited the Agriculture & Food Security Expo held at St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. While taking a tour of this event which was jointly organised by US Agency for the International Development Aid and the CII, Obama visited the stall of IFFCO Kisan Sanchar.
At this stall he collected the information about the low cost services which are given to the farmers of India through the mobile platform of Airtel. When the US president was explained about the services and its cost effectiveness he was very much impressed and stated that “It is a great idea. Do it across the world… Great Work, keep it up.”
The IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Limited is a JV between Bharti Airtel, IFFCO and Star Global with their shares of 50:25:25 respectively. The main aim of this joint venture is to offer cost effective communication and to provide various information to the people in the rural areas.
