Aircel to launch 3G services in India in by 2011AircelIndia’s 5th largest GSM service provider has announced they will launch its3G services in India in the January-March quarter of 2011 by investing $500 million. The company has won spectrum for 13 new circles across the country, including Delhi and Mumbai .
“The company will launch 3G services in the first quarter (January-March quarter) of next year,” Aircel COO Gurdeep Singh told reporters here.The company will plan to invest $1 Billion for the entire 2G and 3G network in 2011.They also told to media that they will finalise the 3G equipment manufacturer by next week.
The company has a target to achieve subscriber base of 45 million to 75 million by next year out of which 10 percent will come from the 3G services. Initially the company will launch 3G in top 10 cities of each circle and then will cover the rest of the states in which it has received spectrum.
