Punjab Government has recently given a contract to Tulip Telecom worth Rs.38 crore in order to deploy the data connectivity services in Punjab. The services will be deployed by Tulip Telecom under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program scheme (R-APDRP).
The R-APDRP is an initiative which is started by the Ministry of Power, Government of India so as to set up automated and reliable system in order to have proper collection of base data line.
After the contract, Tulip Telecom will be named as network bandwidth service provider (NBSP) and will be responsible for various tasks including execution, installation, supply and commissioning of the internet, MPLS VPN and other connectivity services to all the towns which fall under the project scheme of R-APDRP.
Tulip will be responsible to complete this project of Punjab Government within a period of 12 to 18 months and then they will also have to maintain it for next 3 years.
