Research In Motion sees no ban on BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Research In Motion Ltd (RIM), maker of the BlackBerry smartphones, said on Tuesday that so far there is no ban on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and they are confident BlackBerry services will stay for long  in India.
“RIM is here for a long run and there will be no ban in the future,” said, Robert E. Crow, vice- president for industry, government and university relations
Recently Crow met home minister P. Chidambaram and home secretary G.K. Pillai to explain the status of their projects. According to RIM officials, there was no deadline for providing access to BES services.
Since August 2010 RIM has been under pressure from the Indian government as gov. was seeking access to data on BB secure networks, fearing BlackBerry’s heavy encryption makes the smartphones convenient for terrorists to use without being monitored. It has threatened to ban these services if the BlackBerry phone maker doesn’t provide such access.
